Rapé Ceremony
El hape o rapé es una medicina amazónica utilizada por las tribus nativas para purificar las energías sutiles del cuerpo. Se compone de ceniza de tabaco amazónico, mapacho, mezclada con ceniza de otras plantas. Existen muchos tipos de hape, cada uno con una mezcla diferente de plantas. Toda la medicina que sirvo proviene de Brasil y está hecha con intenciones puras de amor, armonía y sanación.
El tabaco es una medicina de limpieza profunda y cada persona reacciona de forma diferente. Purificar la energía puede manifestarse como vómitos, llanto, escupitajos, temblores, tos o ganas de orinar o defecar. Todas estas reacciones son completamente normales. Al soplar esta medicina en la cavidad nasal, las áreas del tercer ojo, la coronilla, el occipital y la garganta pueden verse más afectadas que cualquier otra. Se puede sentir tensión o un ligero ardor en las cavidades del cráneo, y aunque la mayoría del hape no es psicoactivo, se pueden recibir visiones, simplemente porque se está purificando la glándula pineal. A veces, se puede escuchar una guía y, una vez que la medicina ha circulado por el organismo, se siente una profunda sensación de tranquilidad y paz, y la visión física se vuelve más vibrante. Recomiendo mantener la medicina en la nariz durante al menos unos minutos y simplemente sentarse con las sensaciones, con los ojos cerrados, en un estado meditativo. Cuando se sienta listo, puede comenzar a respirar lentamente por la nariz, lo que llevará la flema a la garganta y la boca, momento en el que puede escupirla de vuelta a la tierra con gratitud, o simplemente sonarse la nariz con un pañuelo de papel.
No se conocen contraindicaciones para el hape; el tabaco solo eleva levemente la presión arterial y el ritmo cardíaco, ya que es una medicina de fuego. Le esperará un vaso de agua para consumir después de la ceremonia y se recomienda traer un diario y algo para escribir para registrar cualquier percepción que haya recibido durante la sesión.

Hape or Rapè is an Amazonian medicine used by native tribes to clear subtle energies within the body. It’s composed of the ash of Amazonian tobacco, Mapacho, and mixed with the ash of other plants. There are many types of Hape, each with a different mixture of plants. All of the medicine I serve is sourced from Brazil and made with pure intentions of love, harmony and healing.
Tobacco is a deeply cleansing medicine and everyone reacts differently. Purging energy can look like vomiting, crying, spitting, shaking, coughing or an urge to urinate or defacate. Any and all of these reactions are completely normal. As this medicine is being blown into the nasal cavity, the third eye, crown, occipital and throat areas may be more strongly affected that any other. There can be tension or mild burning felt within the cavities of the skull, and though most hape is not psychoactive, one may receive visions, simply because the pineal gland is being cleansed. At times, guidance can be heard and after the medicine has made its way through your system, a deep sense of tranquility and peace is felt and physical vision is more vibrant. I recommend people keep the medicine within their nose for at least a few minutes and just sit with the sensations, eyes closed in a meditative state. When you feel ready, you can either begin to slowly breathe a bit through your nose, which will carry the phlegm into your throat and mouth, at which point you may spit it out back to the soil with gratitude, or you may simply blow your nose into a tissue.
There are no known contraindications with hape, tobacco only mildly elevates blood pressure and heartbeat as it is a fire medicine. A glass of water will be waiting for you to consume after your ceremony and it’s recommended you bring a journal and something to write with so as to record any insights you received during our session.
