I will be transmitting energy healing and activation from a Mayan sacred site, Ek’ Balam which means “Jaguar Star”. Jaguar is a highly sacred being to the Mayans and many other cultures. A fierce warrior, Jaguar rules the underworld with precise night vision, embodying unyielding strength, power and aiding in the transmutation and ultimate transformation of all that exists within the dark.

While New Age spirituality often only wants to focus on “love and light”, the true love and true light is found in the darkness and then brought to light. We begin our lives in the darkness of our mothers womb and the only way to create anything sustainable, abundant or true is to work with our own Xibalba, our own underworld and harvest the gems waiting for us.

The temple of Ek’ Balam is one of the Mayan sacred sites that vibrates with rich symbolism. It is the only known site featuring angelic winged beings with the entrance being a large toothed mouth of what some say is a Jaguar and others believe to be a giant serpent. Along with Ka’wiil, the Mayan deity of lightning and maize, related to abundance and sacred fire, this site emits the energy of embracing the Mystery of the Hidden Knowledge in the universe and stepping fully into one’s power, one’s divine birthright. Working within this space allows one to embrace the cosmic wisdom of the Jaguar Maya Teachers from the Stars. This is the City of the White Temple of Wisdom, which legend teaches was built by Jaguar Prophets from the Stars themselves.

EK’ BALAM

The entire site is surrounded by two concentric defensive walls that served to protect the civilization from attack. Attempts to go around the walls would be futile, as the city was also surrounded by deep sinkholes that could not be passed. The tomb of Ukit Kan Leʼk Tokʼ, the most notable king of this ancient civilization, is also an honored part of the site. During his rulership, the city became known for its pottery and architecture through the production of ceramics.

The main pyramid is oriented to capture the sunrise during Equinox and various structures on the site were designed in alignment with sacred and astrological structures. The site contains several roads which break off into the four cardinal directions in the center. These four roads suggest an intentional separation to represent the four-part cosmos of Mayan Cosmology which would have made these roads sacred.

To begin to understand the energy of this site, let us first focus on the land and the structure.

The land of the Yucatan peninsula is embedded with interplanetary energy. Pieces of cosmic stardust from a giant meteor that is said to have wiped out the dinosaurs. Surrounded by lush jungle, there exists below the surface a vast network of caves through which ocean and rain water flow.

So we have a space where Heaven has collided with Earth, eradicating lower evolutionary consciousness (dinosaurs) while infusing cosmic energy. This created underground spaces through which then both fresh, living water carrying the nutrients (wisdom) of the trees, plants and mycelium along with cleansing salt water from the ocean flow.

Within this sacred site itself, the main pyramid, El Torre (The Tower), was constructed to receive the sunrise on Equinox. The rising sun, associated with the cardinal direction of East, speaks to new beginnings, creation and illumination. Equinox is the period when light and dark, feminine and masculine, yang and yin are balanced in perfect harmony.

Jaguar, as ruler of Xibalba, the Mayan name for the Underworld, is the totem spirit guide for shamans in cultures all over the world. Adept at skillfully navigating the darkness, shining a light on what we have buried deep within our subconscious, Jaguar reveals our gifts which are often disguised as pain within our ego expression. Remember, the ego wants to keep us safe, it is not our true light. The gifts that Jaguar energy helps illuminate for us, are our treasure, our gems, the source of our wealth and abundance. Jaguar is a shamanic expression of the energy of Pluto in mythology and astrology.

The entrance to the main temple, El Trono (The Throne) is a giant mouth with teeth that is guarded by winged beings, angels, one focusing their gaze within the temple and one focused externally: divine protection within and without. This mirrors the walls constructed to protect the city: two concentric circles. This space is a fortress both on the earth and heavenly realms.

This city was known for pottery and architecture through construction of ceramics. Ceramics work is the art of blending literal earth, water, fire and air. Pottery and architecture is the art of giving form to this blend of all 4 elements.
